  • People drifting off. I'm braced for Folkestone's Halloween celebrations. I've bought my earplugs. Don't think I'll get trick-or-treated. Wifi problems desperately boring - will post properly tomorrow when I've found a solution.

  • I'm back on the ledges after an 8 week break. The weather is exactly the same as when I left. I'm barefoot and in shorts. Half term sea-side revellers everywhere. An art conference at the fringe triangle means there are some people dressed in black to contrast everyone else in summer hues. Beautiful beautiful day. Moon rises as sun sets.

Guy with tripod is taking a pic so I take a pic of him. No seagulls have bothered me but there are loads of flies. I try to use telepathy to get the triennialers to look up.

  • 18:06 Calm and quiet, notice the two men in the lorry park. Had not really taken in the lorry park before. Wonder what they are talking about. Much darker now though so many lights. Still not put socks on as it's so mild. People not waving now, not noticing me. Though a small child called up and waved, as though he knew I was here.

Car/lorry headlights, street lights, house lights, blue/white lights on pub. Lights orange and white reflecting on the harbour water. Moonlight on the right. A sensory explosion. So beautiful.

Digger moving rubbish into a crate in the demolition area. Small boat just going out to sea - red. A bigger liner in the distance. Another trawler going out to sea. Guessing boat descriptions.

  • 14:17 I recognise someone, even from up here and I don't have the binoculars out yet. I'm pretty sure that is Alexandra Le Rossignol, Grace, Emily, Kirsti. To the right is beautiful, as long as you look past the demolished building and out to the sea. I can see a boat out there too. People on the stony beach paddling as the waves break.

  • Hi, first time on the ledge with advice and support from Kate. Waved at people, family waved back. Noticed a couple of lads who looked like they knew there was some art nearby, I kept waving until they looked up. They waved back and seemed to realise this was most likely the art they were searching for. Feels good to interact with people.

  • Looking out at the horizon on my last morning. What does it hold...the end of this vigil....the future...ends of rainbows and pots of gold...? Horizon. Sea level. Eye level. All the same level even if seen from the ground or the top of a hotel or mountain. A simple matter of perspective.

  • One building I believe is remaining beyond the developments is the Harbour Master's House. Not sure of it's current or intended use but I like to imagine a proper Master/Mistress of the Harbour (how do those titles conjure up such vastly different roles?!), who's sole purpose is to survey the Harbour area ensuring all is well. A "Lookout"
